Students at the Murshid program's closing ceremony

KFUPM's Murshid mentoring program closed its fifth edition with more than 220 students taking part, running from 11 January to 20 May 2026. The closing ceremony was held on campus on 2 May 2026 as an interactive gathering centered on meeting, connecting and building relationships, giving participants a chance to widen their networks in ways that outlast the program itself.

Murshid connects KFUPM students with the university's alumni by matching each student with a professional mentor in the sector of their choice. Students draw on the mentor's experience, learn what work in the field is like and what skills the job market demands, and receive guidance that helps them map their career path and make clearer decisions about their future.

Across five editions the program has grown its impact in supporting students and preparing them for their careers: more than 800 students from every major have taken part, mentored by a select group of alumni working across a wide range of sectors and professions.

The sixth edition for the 2026-2027 academic year has begun, with registration open and applications arriving from students who want the mentoring experience, as the program continues to strengthen ties between students and alumni and to support students in building their careers.
